True leadership has little to do with a title.

True leadership has little to do with a title.

Some leaders do earn a "title" worthy to be displayed on LinkedIn, but some, if not most, never do. In my opinion, it’s best to aim to become a true leader, regardless of your title. Its not easy, but well worth it.

Here are a few things that I use to measure whether or not someone is a true leader.

  1. Measure one’s moral position(s)-does one do what’s “right” regardless of what the crowd does?

  2. Measure one’s resolve-does one stick with the goal all the way through?

  3. Measure one’s accountability-does one hold oneself accountable for oneself? For others?

  4. Measure one’s influence-how much influence does one really hold over said group/organization? In many cases, you will find that the person with the best title, is probably not the person with the most influence.

Can you identify the true leaders in your circle, community, business, church, etc.? Are you one of them? Be honest!
